Filing peremptory challenges in the Eighth Judicial District Court is about to get a little bit easier. On May 1, the $450 peremptory challenge filing fee, required by Supreme Court Rule 48.1(2), can be paid with either an electronic draw-down account or a credit card associated with an e-filing account. Currently, filing a peremptory challenge necessitates a visit to the Clerk’s Office. This improvement is part of a strategic plan by the court to use technology to improve accessibility and maximize efficiency.
