The Eighth Judicial District Court of Nevada is accepting employment applications for alternative dispute resolution (ADR)/Discovery commissioner position. The application closing date is May 4, 2023 at 5 p.m.

The ADR/Discovery commissioner will be assigned to the alternative dispute resolution and Discovery will be responsible for implementing various alternatives through which participants can pass in order to resolve civil disputes through means other than traditional costly, lengthy and protracted trials, and fulfill the District Court mission to provide innovative, efficient and fair equal access to justice. The ADR/Discovery commissioner is also charged with resolving any problems that arise from District Court pre-trial disputes involving discovery in civil cases.  The commissioner is appointed by and responsible to the full complement of District Court judges. 

Applicants must be a member of the State Bar of Nevada who is in good standing and has been so for a minimum of five continuous years. Candidates are required to submit a resume (and preferably a cover letter).

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Subsequent employment background investigations may also be conducted. Employment is also contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
