After a thorough application process including public input, attorney Adam Ganz has been selected for the Alternative Dispute Resolution/Discovery Commissioner post with the Eighth Judicial District Court of Nevada. Ganz has 25 years of civil litigation experience as a trial attorney. He has litigated a significant number of cases, participated in many jury trials, evidentiary hearings, arbitrations and mediations. He has worked in multiple appellate courts, including the Nevada Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Arizona Court of Appeals, and the Arizona Supreme Court. He served as a court appointed arbitrator for more than 17 years. In addition, he served as a short trial judge since 2018. He also served as a justice of the peace pro tem for over 10 years. Over the last several years, he has transitioned from being an advocate to a neutral culminating with him obtaining his LL.M. degree in Conflict and Dispute Resolutions from Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law in 2022. He has worked as a private mediator and arbitrator. He is an American Arbitration Association (AAA) mediator and arbitrator, appointed to the national panel for the last two years. He has also volunteered as a mediator at the Neighborhood Justice Center.

Public input is part of a three-tiered recruitment process established in an administrative directive for selecting District Court hearing masters and commissioners. The candidates are finalists who have already been through an application review committee and an oral panel interview. The public input on these candidates goes to a selection panel for the third and final tier of the hiring process. Each candidate is an attorney, who is a member of the State Bar of Nevada in good standing. In his new role, Commissioner Ganz will be responsible for hearing matters and rendering legal opinions and decisions in relevant case law. His first day will be July 10.
